Patchouli Sumatra

About Patchouli Sumatra

Sourced from the leaves of Pogostemon cablin cultivated in the tropical regions of Sumatra, this essential oil is one of the most iconic ingredients in natural perfumery. The patchouli plant thrives in Indonesias humid climate, where farmers harvest and carefully dry the leaves before distillation. Through steam distillation, the aromatic compounds within the leaves are gently released, producing a rich amber-colored oil. Sumatran patchouli oil is known for its deep earthy aroma accented by sweet, woody, and slightly spicy undertones that mature beautifully over time. Its high patchoulol content contributes to its powerful fixative properties, allowing it to anchor and extend fragrance compositions
